Provo River Delta

Due to human settlement, the Provo River was confined to a narrow channel behind levees. Confined spring flood flows of the Provo River greatly reduced habitat value for fish and other aquatic life. The purpose of the Provo River Delta Restoration Project is to help recover the threated June sucker by restore the area’s natural ecosystem. The project has rerouted the Provo River to a 260-acre delta which connects to Utah Lake. This project began in 2020 and is planned to be completed by the end of 2024.

North Fork Native Plants has contract grown and installed over 150,000 10 cubic inch wetland plugs using custom seed sources located within 100 miles of the project site.
